Unilateral recognitions of the Federated Micronations

The Federated Micronations of the Musanian Lands have countersigned the following Unilateral Recognitions of the Republic of Capricornia, regardless of the legal status of the entities recognized:

The Unilateral Recognition of Ukraine and Georgia stand out as the first Unilateral Recognitions of UN-recognized nations. Following the russian de facto annexation of Georgian territories in 2008, Foreign Policy experts of the RC correctly predicted that a Russian incursion in Ukraine, centering on the Crimea, would occur before 2017, causing the RC to unilaterally recognize Ukraine.

After the formation of the Federated Micronations of the Musanian Lands, the following Unilateral Recognitions were issued:

Unilateral Recognitions as a reaction on the russian Agression against Ukraine:

In protest against the blatant break of international laws by Russia during the Crimea crisis, the following Unilateral Recognitions were issued on 2014.03.19:

The 8 republics above, currently under Russian occupation, were selected because all of them have stable non-Russian ethnic majorities and therefore may demand a Referendum on Independence on the same legal basis as the referendum which took place in Crimea and Sevastopol on 2014-03-16, also under Russian occupation.

The 2008 recognition of Ukraine by the RC was confirmed, within the internationally accepted borders including Crimea. The right of the Crimean Tatars to their own political and territorial entity within Ukraine is hereby explicitely recognized.

Unilateral Recognitions within the territory of the "United States":

On 2016.11.10, one day after the election of Donald J. Trump as President of the United States, the following States have been unilaterally recognized by the Federated Micronations:

Unilateral Recognitions reflecting developments in the Asia / Pacific region, filed on 2021.01.19:

East Turkestan and West Papua are both victims of the colonisation by a mighty neighbour, the "People's Republic of China" (PRC) resp. Indonesia. In both cases, the central government pursues a tactic of ethnic minorisation of the original population bordering on Genocide. In the case of East Turkestan, forced labour camps are used by the PRC to "re-educate" Uighur and Kazakh citizens. The struggles for independence of these two states seem almost hopeless.The two other recognitions refer to situations where the situation is more hopeful. The Thai monarchy and military, althoug still ruling the country, has lost all support by Thailand's youth. A major change is only a question of time. Finally, Bougainville has already gained high autonomy, and in a non-binding but official referendum in 2019, the people have voted overwhelmingly for independence, with 98,3%, with negotiations with Papua New Guinea, of which Bougainville is currently a part of, ongoing. Two other not yet decolonized countries, New Caledonia and South Maluku, were recognized unilaterally in December 2012.

Dates given are either date of unilateral recognition, if documented, or date of issue of stamps celebrating the unilateral recognition, which, in general, were issued shortly after the recognition. In 3 cases, only the year is known, and in another 3 cases, even this is not precisely known.

The National Union Government of Myanmar, opposing the coup forces of 2021.02.01, has been recognized by the FM on 2021.06.04.

Clarification of the relationship with the Federal Republic of Germany

On 2022.07.01, the FM have finally decided to unilaterally recognize the Federal Republic of Germany . Germany has been recognized on a de facto basis since 1967.02.01, automatically accepting also all applicable laws by the German state and its federal states. This de jure recognition does not conflict with the recognition of the European Republic as a superstructure or of several existing or former states within the territory of Germany, as the FM sees sovereignty always as something shared between various political levels.

Unilateral Recognitions after 2025.01.01:

During the second D.J.Trump presidentship of the "United States", worldwide instability has accelerated. SDFM is reacting on this instability by recognizing unilaterally states threatened by this instability. The first state recognized is Greenland, with Trump having publicly stated that annexation based on violence is an option he will not exclude. Having already recognized 7 States located in the territory of the "United States" in 2016, the SDFM is observing the situation and will act with further Unilateral Recognitions if necessary.

Discussions are on the way to recognize a Free Republic of Russia, flying the white-blue-white banner and fighting against the autocratic leadership of the criminal organisation called "Russian Federation". The SDFM position on russia is not yet fully defined, but will continue to be based on the 2014 Unilateral Recognition of 8 Republics, especially Tatarstan,
